The Cabin at Kaleidoscope Hill

Stay was great! Easy to get to, clean, had everything you could need during your stay. If or when we come back to Yosemite this will be our first stop in planning.

Charming cabin, perfect pre‑Yosemite stop<br/>As a local, I loved this little getaway. The cabin is adorable: live plants and the fresh scent of rosemary greet you, and thoughtful, artistic touches from the kitchen ceiling to the bedroom door, porch chairs, and window blinds and everywhere. I relaxed on the porch listening to birds, then soaked up sunshine in the hot tub. It felt so romantic I wished I’d brought a date. The owner stopped by to welcome me at check‑in, which was a lovely personal touch. Highly recommended for anyone heading to Yosemite or just needing a peaceful escape.

What a wonderful experience we’ve had while staying at this lovely cabin. They have clearly <br/>gone the extra many many miles to assure the cabin is so beautifully furnished, including <br/>absolutely every single thing one would need and appreciate! We retired a couple of years <br/>ago relocating from Austin TX to the mountains above Taos NM – our dream come true…. <br/>looks like the host found theirs as well and we are so fortunate they are sharing their <br/>exceptional space. As we are taking a month’s trip throughout California as first-timers, we <br/>are satisfying our bucket list adventures as we near our 50 years together. This was the perfect home base for 2 people for a few days exploring Yosemite. It was well equipped with everything we needed, including a full kitchen to cook meals for our whole trip. Plenty of space and amenities both indoors and outdoors for relaxing on our recovery day between hiking, including the hot tub, board games, and a local hard cider place we found just down the road. Avand was proactive and reached out to let us know about a road closure into Yosemite and alternate routes we could take. We would definitely return for our next Yosemite trip!

Avand's place was the perfect base for us for exploring Yosemite. It had all the amenities we needed and is situated in quiet, peaceful surroundings. After long days of hiking and exploring we appreciated having a comfortable place to return to.

Amazing stay. The house is very cute and so well equipped. Super clean, it felt really like home. The hot tub was also very nice after a long day of hiking and super fun disco ball. The location is great, very near Mariposa town and 1h drive to Yosemite. We had a great time there and recommend it!

I like the amenities that were provided in the airbnb. The airbnb is equipped with updated equipment that we found enjoyable such as a bidet, outdoor patio, and the kitchen. It felt like home and the area outside was beautiful. The trees were amazing and you can see the stars at night.

Great little get away cabin. We only stayed one day but everything was clean and matched the listing. Our host was responsive with easy check in and out. Everything in the cabin was well marked with directions for use. Nice location, about 15 minutes drive to the town but quiet and beautiful location.

Perfect spot for our visit to Yosemite NP. We appreciated Avand’s flexibility to come a day early when our plans changed. The cabin, which is nestled in the woods, had everything we needed. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend

Fantastic place! We were able to get the “cabin in the woods” vibe without the usual accompanying feeling that we’re in a scary movie. The amenities were amazing, and it’s very obvious the hosts put a lot of thought and effort into the listing. The drive to Yosemite was only about an hour, and it was beautiful. Close enough to town to get supplies but far enough to enjoy the quiet. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Avand’s place was perfect for a Yosemite getaway. We stayed with two dogs and enjoyed the privacy and very well appointed cabin. There was a minor innocence at check in but he quickly offered solutions to rectify the situation. Overall the cabin was very comfortable, we would stay again if back in town.

We stayed at Avands place with our dogs. Was such a great experience for a quick 2 day get away. Cabin had all the amenities and was just what we needed. We will be staying here on our next get away!

Great visit…love the house. Wish we were here longer in warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor kitchen. There were lots of nice touches: q-tips, bird clock, bed was comfy, zip lock bags, hot tub, REAL plants …. All good. Again, we had a great time and loved the cabin.

We had a great stay at the cabin. It’s so beautiful and peaceful. We had a family of deer come visit one evening, which was amazing. The cabin is just as described and we’d definitely stay there again.

This Airbnb was perfect for our weekend getaway! It had everything we needed and was very spacious! The shared backyard is super cute with an outdoor kitchen, hammock, and hot tub. Would definitely stay there again!

Our stay was incredible! The hot tub was awesome to have in the evenings after Yosemite.

Very lovely & peaceful place. Had everything we could need, and most importantly, a comfortable king sized bed. (I’ve stayed in a LOT of Air bnbs, & this can absolutely ruin an otherwise great experience.) :)<br/>We stayed during an unusually hot weekend, so didn’t get to take advantage of the hot tub or outdoor kitchen, but hopefully we can return another time. It’s a really neat set up! <br/>Our favorite local spots were Sierra Cider (very close!), The Grove, & Sticks Coffee in Mariposa; and South Gate Brewing in Oakhurst. <br/>We also took our dogs to Briceburg one day, and spent our last day in Yosemite on the paved, dog friendly trails. <br/>Avand is an excellent host!

Beautiful, warm, relaxing home! We stayed a few days to explore Yosemite. We fell in love with this home and its decor. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the bbq. The bed was comfortable. We got a kick out of the notes left around for instructions written with a sense of humor. The host was responsive and proactive about potential issues. Would love to come back!

Loved this stay! The Airbnb is about an hour and a half from Yosemite valley and two hours from Tuolumne meadows. There’s not a ton of housing between Mariposa and the park (aside from a few hotels), so all things considered, this was a great location. Avand was very communicative which was appreciated. The hot tub was great after long days of hiking. Overall, loved it here.

We loved Avand’s space. Great mix of quiet home and things to do in the backyard area. Hot tub, outdoor seating, grill area and outdoor cooking space were excellent. Very comformtable beds, plenty of linens and towels, and kitchen was fully built out with any needed amenity. <br/>Quick 15-min drive to downtown Mariposa made dinners and grocery runs easy, with a ton of privacy. Sunset was awesome. <br/>We loved our stay at Avand’s and will definitely plan to stay here again when we come back to Yosemite.

Great AirBnb to stay in - we loved the vibe, has all the necessary things, super cool patio in the back unfortunately we did not get to use due to timing. Host was proactive and attentive; definitely will be back!

Staying at Avand and Connie’s place was the perfect babymoon location away from city life. We loved how quiet it was and being nudged on a hilltop away from the main road made all the difference. It wasn’t too hot while we stayed, maybe 90 for one day, but the AC kept the whole place nice n cool. We would’ve liked having access to the pantry in the kitchen, but just didn’t wanna ask cause I’m sure most people bother her with that question a lot. We got to see a family of deer pass through one morning in the backyard so keep your eyes open for some wildlife! King size bed was perfect!!! Very accommodating for our dog, he loved chasing the lizards in the backyard.

The Mariposa Cabin was a great spot for exploring Yosemite and returning to an air-conditioned cozy place. We grilled steaks, we hot-tubbed, and slept peacefully.

We had a wonderful stay! I forgot contact lens solution and brought no extra contacts and i was so impressed to find a bottle of solution under the sink. Saved my eyes and my trip! The cabin is very well thought out in terms of guests feeling like at home for sure. Appreciate the thoughtfulness

We planned a week experiencing Yosemite. This was an excellent spot, thought required some driving into the park. We found the 140 route more enjoyable with the last 20 or so miles along the Merced River into the West entrance of the park. The cabin was perfect for my wife and I. Secluded and quiet, but with places to eat if you choose to eat out in nearby Mariposa or Oakhurst. We chose to cook each evening and the kitchen or outdoor grill was perfect. Everything you needed to cook was available.... My wife and I enjoy visiting all the National Parks, but if we re-visit Yosemite, we will definitely seek out this jem of a place.

This Airbnb was a great place to decompress and relax in after multiple days of hiking! The hot tub out in the back is a plus for your achy joints after hiking all day. The location is peaceful and only a 20 minute drive to downtown Mariposa where all the restaurants and shops are. They accommodated both of our dogs which was a huge plus. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely book again!

We loved the cabin! Such a beautiful area and cool space. We loved the way the interior was designed and even bought one of the pieces of local art! We would absolutely stay here again, and it was perfect proximity for our trip to Yosemite. Thank you for everything.

Nanook and I have stayed in many Airbnb’s since I retired and started traveling, this was “hand’s down” the best! Everything was as described and perfect. The king bed was so comfortable and I made use of the bbq and disco lights. 😀 I felt at home. We explored Yosemite during the day and relaxed at home at night. I wanted to reserve a few nights more nights but I was too late. 😩 I made use of that great kitchen. Highly recommend and Nanook and I will be back. It was nice meeting Connie.

The cabin felt homey for our week there. I was a big fan of the kitchen setup and my boyfriend enjoyed the outdoor bbq setup. The hot tub was nice and needed after long days of hiking. It was a nice drive to Yosemite each morning along the river. Highly recommend! Also appreciated the coffee set up!

This was comfortable stay around 1h-1h15m from Yosemite Valley. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had several great nights rest. The entire place is spotless. There are also useful amenities such as coffee machine, washing machine etc. checkin was also very straightforward

Check out Sierra Cider up the street. If going to Yosemite, leave early, we got to the gates by 6 AM and not a soul in sight. Super peaceful for your first hike of the day without the crowds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Avand was super helpful and accommodating & his place met all our expectations. <br/>Some highlights for me were the disco ball in the back patio/kitchenette area, the hot tub and the hammock & the bidet lol. And of course the constant sound of frogs and crickets :) <br/>We also had some turkey friends that visited daily. <br/>The location is an easy drive to downtown mariposa with a bunch of great little restaurants, grocery stores and shops. And a beautiful 50min-1hr drive to Yosemite! <br/>Highly recommend & would stay again!

We had a blissful 6-days of complete R&R. Everything met or exceeded our expectations - there were no surprises. And when the power went out for about 6 hours during a heavy snowstorm, Avand made sure we were minimally, if at all, inconvenienced.

Me and my partner really fell in love with the place and mariposa ! The cabin was stunning and had a warm comfy feeling we felt right at home. The hot tub was a great extra activity and we enjoyed the disco ball it was keas favorite haha ! We even got some turkey guests ! It was genuinely perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay thank you so much for letting us stay ! Would come again and again ! Ps. The biggest comfiest bed I’ve been in lol :)

My partner and I had an amazing stay. It was super peaceful and the place had everything you need. We definitely have to come back when it’s not raining so that we can utilize the hot tub and beautiful outdoor kitchen. They also provided a guide book with recommendations for places to eat, hikes/trails in Yosemite, and things to do. I enjoyed looking through it and using some of their suggestions, it was very helpful. Thank you again, Avand and Connie. Our dog, Mila, had so much fun roaming around the area as well hehe.

The backyard was a standout feature, with a grill and a fun disco setup that made for super chill evenings.<br/>The house had everything we needed and more—it truly felt like the hosts went above and beyond to provide a cozy and warm welcome. We felt so taken care of and truly welcomed throughout our stay.<br/>Unfortunately, my husband and I couldn't explore much of Yosemite due to the weather, but staying in this cozy home more than made up for it.<br/>We will definitely be back! This was an incredible cabin that I hope to return to soon! Felt right at home in this warm cabin in the hills of Mariposa County. Quick hour-long drive to Yosemite was convenient, and downtown Mariposa was charming!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The perfect place for a staycation! The stars were stunning and the hot tub was so nice to relax in. Avand was very responsive when we had trouble with the outdoor cooking area and helped us get that all situated. <br/>We were a bit bummed the dishwasher wasn’t working and the hammock wasn’t set out on the porch like in the pictures. We can’t complain too much though considering how gorgeous this property is! <br/>Overall, this is definitely now a saved airbnb for us and we will be back:)

As a single mom traveling with kids, I was met with respect and professionalism. Avand was a pleasant and knowledgeable host. I appreciated his attention to detail and precision in hospitality. Kaleidoscope Hill exceeded my expectations by far! We will most likely make it back to Kaleidoscope Hill for a second and longer stay! We had a great time in Yosemite National Park which seemed like a very short, easy drive in!

This cabin was exactly as described, a perfect place to unwind after spending the days in Yosemite/Kings Canyon. Avand and Connie were so helpful: proactively providing tips on the area, places to go, what to expect at Yosemite. They responded quickly to questions so even though we were in a cabin near the woods, we never really felt we were left to figure things out on our own. I would definitely recommend both the place and the hosts!

About 1 hour 20 minutes drive from the Arch Rock entrance of Yosemite. The place is cozy and lovely. Very excellent bathroom!

The location was easy to find and checkin was seamless. The place was clean and homely. All the amenities worked as expected.

Avands airbnb was perfect. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and spent some time in Yosemite. Restaurants are about 20 minutes away from the property and Yosemite is roughly an hour away. We did use the kitchen a lot, which was perfect and also the barbecue grill and hot tub. I would definitely recommend this airbnb to anyone that is visiting yosemite.

Avand's place feels like a hug in the mountains. This was our last trip to our favorite park - Yosemite, and Avand's home made us feel at home and welcomed over the trip. The property has all the latest amenities, and the hot tub is a luxury (along with the heated bidet seat!). <br/>The kitchen is well stocked up and there are ample utensils and silverware to cook a feast in there. We stayed for more than a week and we cooked homemade meals easily. The W/D combo is a good option over a long stay. There's tons of walking space around the place and we enjoyed taking walks (when it wasn't snowing) with our pet cat. We even spotted a bunch of deers who visited the property often. <br/>But what stood out, was when it snowed (yes in April & more than 10 inches) and we were holed in the home, and Avand came to our rescue with his personal stash of food & plowing the snow from the driveway to make it easy for us to get out. I'd totally come back and stay here any given day again.

We had an amazing time! The host super welcoming, responsive and thoughtful! He left us welcome gift for our birthday. The scenery is breathtaking! It’s a really peaceful place! The location is great to get to the city nearby or up Yosemite valley.

This cabin was a really cool find and area is just absolutely beautiful. <br/>Upon our arrival the boat recommended a nearby spot called Sierra Cider, which was less than a mile down the road. I’m so grateful they told us about it because we really enjoyed checking it out and meeting some of the locals. <br/>The cabin itself was really clean, the host was friendly, the home was even more beautiful in person than the pictures, check-in was easy, and to my surprise the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I had ever slept on - seriously, I slept like a baby there. <br/>I’m definitely planning on coming back sometime soon during the summer. <br/>Grateful to have found this place. <br/>To any future guests, be sure you check out the Sierra Cider place and the neighboring pizza shop located at the same location- you won’t be disappointed. <br/>Cheers,<br/>Melinda

Surrounded by trees, it provided the perfect escape from the daily grind. The moment we stepped inside, we felt the warmth and coziness of the place. The rustic charm of the cabin was complemented by modern amenities, and everything was clean and well-maintained. One of the highlights of our stay was the hot tub. After a long day of hiking in Yosemite, there was nothing better than sinking into the bubbling hot water while gazing up at the night sky. It was the ideal way to relax and unwind, and it left us feeling rejuvenated and ready for the next day's adventures. Thank you again!

Loved our stay here! Avand is a great host and has a really cool place. Our favorite part was watching the stars while relaxing in the hot tub with the disco ball on in the backyard. There was so much to love here - the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and we enjoyed the bottle of local hard cider that was waiting for us. Would love to stay here again next time we visit Yosemite.

My husband and Ioved this place — full of thoughtful touches and beautifully decorated. I started my day drinking coffee on the porch, which was very peaceful. Coffeemaker is fancy and lovely by the way, and provided coffee beans and grinder. Hot tub was nice after a day of hiking. <br/>It was about 1h15 to Yosemite and about 15 minutes from downtown Mariposa where there are some restaurants and a grocery store. We’d recommend this Airbnb!

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our trip to Yosemite. <br/>The kitchen was fully stocked, the washer and dryer were great for sweaty clothes, & the shower water pressure & temp worked fine.<br/> <br/>Our favorite thing(s) were the outdoor amenities. We soaked in the hot tub & used the bar & grill nearly every night. It was awesome to relax like this after hiking in the park. <br/>Some things to know: <br/>There is another cabin about 30-50 feet away. I wasn’t aware it was so close. This cabin’s main window faces the bedroom & bathroom window. There is a window covering/tint on the bathroom window but it’s still see through. It was also a little awkward being in the hot tub on some nights because we could see the other tenants & they could see us. Pics 22 & 23 show the distance, I overlooked this.<br/>The bedroom gets a little stuffy but it isn’t terrible if you leave the door open. A box fan would helpful drawing in the cool air from the living room where the air conditioner is located.

Fantastic stay. The place was amazing to access Yosemite and was actually so nice we wanted to stay at the house more than we wanted to go to Yosemite at one point. Well stocked with the necessities and even some extras. 12/10 place. would definitely stay again and recommend to others doing a Yosemite trip. Thank you!

Great place to stay while visiting g Yosemite. Hot tub was just what we needed after a full day of hiking.

This airbnb was the perfect spot for 2 couples visiting Yosemite! We were within an hour / hour and a half from the park, and spent a lot of time utilizing the outdoor kitchen and hot tub when we came home to relax. Avand & Connie were very responsive and friendly hosts. We would absolutely stay again!

Great private cabin with awesome hot tub to soak in after long hikes in Yosemite. Kitchen was well stocked, great laundry facility and showers had shampoo conditioner and body wash. Avand and Connie were fantastic to communicate with, very accommodating and super fast to respond. Location is a good base for Yosemite.

Beautiful stay in Mariposa while we visited Yosemite. Despite being an hour outside the park, the drive in the morning was well worth it. We loved using the hot tub after a day in the park. Avand’s clever rhymes around the house made us laugh as well.

This place was amazing! Much needed relaxing and comfortable cabin after a few days hiking and exploring Yosemite. It was also a nice transition from camping, while still being secluded in a private, beautiful cabin. This place was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I am a local to Mariposa. I live out of state now, and had to go back to do some work stuff. This place was amazing. Avand was very helpful and helpful. I had a problem with the bathroom lights, and it was fixed the next morning. Very appreciative. The bed was comfortable, hot tub was absolutely amazing!

Beautiful place. If you’re looking for a wonderful peaceful getaway spot definitely come here. Only an hour away from Yosemite, and 20 minutes away from a grocery store. Loved every moment.

Such a sweet cabin, well appointed with lots of nice touches~ well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed, glorious hot tub. Something to note for those who run cold: bring slippers if it’s winter!! The only heat source comes from the living room ceiling so the bedroom and bathroom can be quite chilly, esp the floors 🥶. All in all though, a fantastic place. Would like to come back in summer to utilize the outdoor patio/bbq, etc!

If you’re looking for a place near Yosemite, this is one to consider. Beautifully decorated with amenities like a hot tub, and an additional outdoor kitchen which I could imagine is nice to enjoy during the summer. The hosts were also proactive and communicative, and I appreciated their Welcome Guidebook which was in the living room

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely few days deliberately and literally doing *nothing.* We just wanted to zone out and hang out somewhere that wasn't home. And hell, this place was perfect for that. Fully stocked, comfortable AF, we slept, ate, did some crafts (okay, so that's not "nothing" per se) and slept, slept, slept. It was perfect. Plus, we basically became one with the hot tub. Thanks for a great spot!

We had the most amazing weekend at Kaleidoscope Hill! Extra points for it being so beautiful in the snow. Everything was perfect, and the hot tub was our favorite touch. It’s so peaceful in the backyard. The hosts are super responsive, and accommodating with power outages in a winter storm - they are ultra prepared! Book this place… you will not regret it!!!

This was one of the most pleasant Airbnb experiences I have ever had. The home is set up so well, it really felt like a home meant to live in. The patio is perfect for spending evenings outdoors and the location isn’t bad (about 1 hour to the southwestern park entrance and 1 hr 10 min to most trailheads in the valley. I highly recommend!

This place was perfect. After a long day at Yosemite it was really nice to come back, cook a nice meal, and relax in the hot tub. Appliances are top notch and even had detergent provided! It had basically anything you could need including an assortment of spices and minced garlic! Slept great in the bed- a little on the firmer side, but my husband slept like a log!

We had such a great time in Mariposa and Yosemite - the cabin was the perfect place for us to relax. We slept better than we had in weeks and I’d love to know what kind of magical mattress we slept on. <br/>Avand has thought of everything to make the cabin comfortable, and everything in the home is so beautiful. We loved being there at the end of summer and see glimpses of fall in the surrounding trees. We would return in a heartbeat.

I would definitely highly recommend this mariposa house and the wilderness around is beautiful as well as the wildlife and charming and I also forgot to mention that the mariposa house is close to Yosemite national park. And if you are planning to go to Yosemite national park this house highly recommended.

Kaleidoscope Hill is a perfect spot. Avand has really considered every aspect of a perfect AirBnb stay; the location is private yet close to everything, the space is well decorated and well kept, the kitchen is stocked without having to bring anything, the bed is super comfy… I could go on and on. We had a lovely stay at Avand’s. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Avand!

The Cabin is well appointed and in a great location.

Overall the stay was good, location was shotty with no cellular connection once you get into the mountains. Check in time and check out time were a bit poor with the amount of money spent for one night, listing didn’t mention anything about water being drinkable or not, tap water was well water and tasted of iron and was not good, having full use of all utilities was nice though and backyard was nice, AC worked OK, unit was not working properly and temps rose to 85 when cooking. We weren’t Able to adjust the temp. Fully stocked kitchen and utensils to use was a bonus, private parking was nice. Overall 8/10 stay.

Such a wonderful location and the perfect base camp for our Yosemite trip! The jacuzzi was the perfect way to end the day after a long hike.

Overall highly recommended. Beautiful house and super well maintained. It can sleep 4. The sofa bed is on the firm side, so a more sensitive sleeper may not have the best time. Drive into the town is ~17 minutes and has everything you need to stock up for Yosemite. I will be coming back.

I can't say enough good things about this cabin. Very clean, very well thought of in terms of amenities and supplies provided. The location is wonderful, not too far from supermarkets. It is a bit far from the park, but I don't think you can get much closer to it unless you stay inside the park.<br/>The cabin itself is very cute, adorably decorated, even the pull out couch was very comfortable! <br/>We would highly recommend and will most likely be back in the future.

Note - you will be an hour drive away from the park and about 20 minutes to the nearest town or grocery store. Would recommend stocking up beforehand.

Beautiful touches throughout, as well as witty notes that are helpful as well as funny.<br/>Interior feels professionally decorated. <br/>Some items in posted pics have been replaced and updated, like the big screen Roku in the bedroom, dishwasher, and workstation with monitor. There are also more boardgames than you see in the pic.<br/>No musty smells here as there is an air purifier as well.<br/>Grill preheats to 500F in a matter of minutes (even on a cold windy January night).<br/>Hosts even had a lovely card and bottle of cider waiting for us.

The place was perfect for our family of 3. While our stay, even though we were stuck indoors due to heavy unexpected snowfall and snow, the place was well equipped to spend the time. The hosts are very good in staying in touch and made sure we were out safely by clearing up the long driveway full of snow.

this is definitely one of the best airbnbs i’ve ever stayed at! it’s really nice and the cabin is exactly what it is in the pictures. it was truly nice and everything was so pretty. it gave us a lot of house inspo! if you’re staying in winter, it gets very cold but it’s worth it! driving at night is scary though so get there before sundown!

Perfect cozy cabin for two people! The cabin is well stocked and looks even better than in the pictures. It is about 45 minutes away from the park entrance and 20 minutes from downtown Mariposa. We wished we had an extra day to just enjoy the cabin, especially the outdoor area/hot tub! Avand was a wonderful host and was friendly and responsive throughout our stay.

You won't find a better host or Airbnb, especially within reach of Yosemite. This was our second time staying here and we plan to continue booking annually. The kitchen and grill is a real treat for those who love to cook, the porch is a prime place to linger, the disco ball sends reliably good vibes in all directions, and the hot tub and comfy bed will restore your legs after a long day in the park. It's a perfect place.

Avand’s place was great. The cabin gave me and my partner a ton of ideas of a place we’d want in the future. <br/>Avand’s about the little details. Hilarious little jokes on the labels around the house. It’s the humor that was the cherry on top of our trip.

This is by far the most well stocked Airbnb I have ever stayed in. They have everything and anything you could possibly need to cook with. They even had different types of tea! The decorations are so cute and the king size bed is comfortable. It is about 1 hour 15 minutes to Yosemite Valley, 45 minutes to the entrance of the park. It was about 15 minutes from the restaurants/stores in mariposa. The hosts were good at communicating and very friendly.

Had such an amazing time! The cabin feels tucked away in the woods but is still actually close to town. It’s decorated beautifully and feels very cozy. The kitchen was STOCKED - great to cook in. The hot tub was wonderful after hiking in Yosemite. My husband and I slept like babies there. AND, Avand and Danee are great hosts. They are there for whatever you need. They are also super nice, social people so if you like to get to know your hosts, you have that option. But if you want to keep to yourself, they will totally leave you be as well. Looking forward to our next stay at kaleidoscope hill!

This stay is amazing!! Somehow, it looks even better in person. The hosts were so accommodating and even had a surprise for our elopement. About an hour drive to Yosemite. The grill outside and hot tub is a bonus. Everything was clean. Comfy bed, all you need to cook, and washer/dryer. They thought of everything. We can’t wait to go back for an anniversary trip.

The cabin was absolutely wonderful. We did not want to go home. Everything you need for your stay has been thought of. The kitchen is well stocked including both utensils and spices. The bed is very comfortable. We used the hot tub daily to ease our sore muscles from hiking. Highly recommend.

This place was amazing and so well equipped. We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our Yosemite trip. Coming home every night to rest our sore muscles in the hot tub was the best. This neighborhood was sooo quiet and you could see a billion stars. The bed and pillows were comfy and we slept well everynight. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need for cooking and we had all of our meals in the house! If we are in the area again I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful retreat after hiking in Yosemite! About an hour from the El Portal entrance and the views are great along the way. Avand and Danee made so many personal touches throughout the house and during our stay. Connie made the place spotless prior to our arrival. The view of the stars from the hot tub was great in the evening. We would definitely stay again, and will refer friends traveling that way!

Cozy place and in a good location between Yosemite Valley and Downtown Mariposa

Avand’s place was amazing! It’s a great place to stay if you are going to Yosemite! We prepped breakfast, left for a day hike, prepped dinner in the outdoor kitchen, then relaxed in the hot tub. It’s the perfect distance from Yosemite and we were able to entire via the fish camp entrance and el portal. Facilities were phenomenal and the Avand was extremely nice and accessible.

One of the best airbnbs I've stayed in. I could have lived there for a month and been comfortable. All of the appliances are high end performance. The space was both airy and cozy. The bed was phenomenal. We stayed at a few airbnbs and hotels on our trip out west and this one ruined all the others for us after because it became the gold standard.

This cabin is awesome! Very cozy, private space, with amenities to boot! It's within good driving range of Yosemite which was why we visited. Mariposa is about 20 minutes away (I drive slow) providing restaurants, grocery, and gas. We saw a bunch of wildlife like deer, horse, coyote, snake, and others while on the road. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the kitchen excellent, and outdoor space has bonuses like a hot tub and outdoor kitchen. I can't recommend this cabin enough! We went here for our honeymoon and it exceeded expectations.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while we visited Yosemite. We got to the gate in about an hour, which really wasn’t bad. <br/>The pull out worked perfectly for our 5 and 6 year old and the bed was very comfortable! My kids also loved the disco ball outside, and the property was really fun for them to explore. <br/>There is so much attention to detail, and the hosts are amazingly responsive. We didn’t use the hot tub since it was 100°+ throughout our entire stay, but it was so nice to have the option. We’d definitely stay here again!

The PERFECT place to stay for visiting Yosemite! It was an easy drive to Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove a little over an hour drive to each depending on traffic. Other spots in the park will be a longer drive but it’s about as close as you can get without actually staying in the park. This cabin has all the amenities you could need, (full kitchen accessories, plug in stereo system to play music from your phone, games and movies, baking supplies, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, extra blankets pillows, a bidet etc… I could go on and on!) We were able to buy groceries in town (20-25 min drive), and cook every night there. The outside grill and seating are also a bonus and the lights and disco ball make it even more fun. The best part however is the hot tub, it’s great for soaking your sore muscles after hiking (you just have to shower first), and enjoying the starry sky. Everything in the house was easy to find/use and labeled with fun directions. The hosts were very communicative sending messages with all the information you’d need days before and the day of to make sure everything went smoothly or if we needed anything else. They even warned us ahead of time about needing a day pass for Yosemite during the time we’d be visiting which was very helpful. This was our honeymoon trip and we could not have asked for an easier, more peaceful, relaxing stay than what we got here at Kaleidoscope Hill! Thank you hosts for all your attention to detail and creating such a wonderful place!

We had a wonderful stay at Avand and Danee’s cozy cabin! The cabin was very clean and had all of the amenities we needed. The hot tub was perfect at nighttime after hikes in Yosemite and the grilling area was great! We highly recommend this for your stay if visiting Yosemite NP, it is about an hour from the park and the perfect place to have a quiet relaxing stay after long days of exploring!

Kaleidoscope Hill is gem! The cabin is super clean, well appointed, and well organized. We cooked all of our meals in Avand’s cabin and especially loved using the outside kitchen. The hot tub was a welcome reward after a day of long hikes in Yosemite. The drive back and forth to Yosemite was completely manageable and very scenic. Once back at the cabin, the quiet surroundings and starry night sky felt so peaceful after the hectic congestion of the park. Avand was immediately responsive and even reached out to us with a Yosemite update on required advanced reservations- which saved our trip!

Beautiful location, had an amazing time, me and my wife had a great time enjoyed some hikes nearby and the brewery near by, was just a perfect little vacation.

Avand and Danee’s place is incredible. The photos don’t do it justice. The cabin is gorgeous, comfortable, and well maintained. It’s out of the way and peaceful. The kitchen is well stocked with the basics for longer stays. It’s a perfect place for a couple or small family to stage their Yosemite vacation.

It’s a really nice place, very nice appliances and very clean. We loved the hot tub and patio. One thing that was a little weird is that the hosts live on the property, it did sometimes feel like we were being watched (the host home is about 10 feet from the airbnb), so maybe just something to consider. Also make sure you are checked out on time, they come over at 10.

Great place to stay outside of Yosemite Valley. The hot tub and outdoor grill were the perfect set up.

My husband and I couldn’t recommend this beautiful home, property, and location more. At first we worried about the commute to and from the park each day, but this was just the reprieve we needed from our long days of hiking. The well equipped and extremely comfortable cabin gave us the ability to refresh and relax. The hot tub, grill/bar, kitchen, comfortable bed, heated bidet!! and cute instructions all over the home were all wonderful. We were thankful to get away from the chaos of the park for some quiet time in the woods. Quick drive to towns in either direction for groceries and dinner out. Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else when we come back next time.

Great spot about 20 minutes from downtown Mariposa. After a day hiking around Yosemite, the hot tub is a godsend. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout the place make it a joy to hang out in, and the peaceful environs are nice enough to want to just stay on the porch and watch humming birds zip around the yard. Absolutely loved staying here, wish we had extended our stay longer!

100% recommend staying here! It was the perfect cabin to getaway from LA for a few days. We went to Yosemite 2/3 days and it was an easy and enjoyable drive. The cabin is picturesque and so cozy! It had everything we were looking for. One thing not mentioned in the listing is the AMAZING sunset views from the property. We got to enjoy the sky and mountains glowing at sunset every night and it was the cherry on top to the great stay.<br/>The hosts were also so sweet and welcoming and were quick to answer any of our special requests. We’ll be back soon!!

The perfect mountain cabin getaway. Only an hour away from Yosemite park, the cabin was more than what was described and expected. We were there for Thanksgiving and with a well stocked kitchen, were able to prepare a feast. After a long day of hiking, I can't recommend the hot tub under the stars more. Avand and Danee were incredible hosts. There's no doubt in our minds that we'll be back!

We absolutely loved staying at Avand's cabin and thought it was the best Airbnb we've ever stayed at. The cabin itself was cozy and charming, but what exceeded our expectations were all the small touches throughout the cabin--from the rhyming labels/instructions to the fully stocked kitchen. The bed was so comfortable, the place was quiet, and the hot tub was amazing after a long day at Yosemite. Everything was perfect. We can't wait to go back!

Avand’s cabin is amazing! So perfect for my girlfriend and I for a long weekend. The backyard was awesome for hanging out and the hot tub was super relaxing. Everything was incredibly clean and Avand was so nice and helpful. Last, but not least, the bidet was life-changing - ordering one for myself as we speak. Coziest spot, hope to make it back here again!!

Avand and Danee’s spot was incredible. So many thoughtful touches in and around the space. A 45 or so minute drive to the heart of the valley, and only 15 to 20 minutes from a lot of delicious restaurants. I will admit that the space is so cozy with all it’s charm that if you plan to come to explore, be careful as you may end up just wanting to chill in the cabin the entire stay.

This cabin is a total gem. It was extremely easy to communicate with the hosts, they were responsive and very accommodating. The house is beautiful & the backyard with hot tub, disco ball & grill was wonderful after a day at Yosemite. We were there for a birthday and the hosts went above and beyond to draw some birthday chalk art in the driveway. We would definitely come back!

This place was wonderful! The cabin was spacious, clean and it had everything that you needed to enjoy your stay. The kitchen was fully stalked with everything you need to cook amazing meals and the backyard/spa area was beautiful and very relaxing. My partner and I stayed here for two nights while we were out enjoying Mariposa County and Yosemite. The cabin was lovely, quiet, and comfortable! As soon as we walked in we knew that this was the perfect place to stay. The large living room was a great place to play games or do some reading, and the kitchen was perfectly situated for entertaining and cooking. A huge bonus was being able to slip into the hot tub after a long day of hiking! Don’t miss out on this gem!

The cabin was amazing, they thought about every little detail to make it special. The host were always there when we need it, we had a relaxing and beautiful stay.

This was the oasis I've been searching for all year. Avand + Danee's place is tucked away in the foothills outside of Yosemite and was relaxing, spacious and intentionally setup. Their welcome binder had all of the information and pro-tips I could ask for about outdoor activities and the home. The outdoor kitchen/bar/seating area was perfect to hang in the afternoon (and read in the hammock) -- plus the disco ball kept the vibrations high all weekend. When we needed a heat break, the AC was a life-saver... but boy did that sunshine feel good after being locked up in San Francisco these past 5 months! Thank you both so much for hosting us in your wonderful space to make me feel reunited and grounded in nature, we appreciate everything from the thoughtful touches to your quick and positive responses to our questions. We will be coming back before the end of this year. <3

Wow! What an awesome experience. Avand + Danee have outdone themselves with their Mariposa AirBnB. B/C Covid-19 shelter-in-place, this was one of the first trips that we've taken since March 2020. It's clear that they've spent a lot of time and effort making their home/property welcoming to guests. They both have great energy and when we booked it, we got an awesome message from Danee welcoming us for our 1-night stay. When we got settled into our room in the main cabin, the clever little details caught my attention. They've thought through every convenience with clear labels and nice little added features like the bidet/heated toilet seat, vintage coffee grinder, unique decor - which all made "Kaleidoscope Hill" (their name for the property) feel like a home away from home. After spending a few minutes chatting with Avand + Danee, it sounds like they've been renting their house out for a few months now so they've pretty much nailed down the check-in process (super easy) and the house was easy to find. One of the things I didn't expect was how private the house felt. There aren't any neighbors really on either side of the house which made our stay secluded, peaceful and relaxing. The thing I loved most about our stay was the "flow". They did a good job of making the spaces easy to flow through i.e. inside to outside. There's an awesome outdoor entertaining area with a sweet hammock, BBQ, outdoor fridge etc. which just made the stay all the moor enjoyable. One thing that surprised me was Avand and Danee's musical talents. They may as well be professional DJ's because they've got some sweet tracks they've put together. Something tells me the way to their hearts is good vibes and good music. Awesome AirBnB stay. Highly recommend. Will definitely book again.

Awesome place. Very nice host who responded promptly and was very courteous. We super appreciated how nice everything was. It looks like the whole cabin was recently renovated and it’s absolutely sparkling. Definitely stay here.

Great location with excellent backyard built-in BBQ and dining area plus spa. Owners are very nice and live onsite in a nearby (but separate) building, so were available for any questions/concerns throughout the stay.

If you want an amazing, relaxing, and fun (esp. cooking, nature, hot tub) time away from it all this is where to go.

Avand + Danee were nothing short from spectacular. They were helpful, kind, and managed to find answers to our questions about the area. Avand and Danee did an excellent job setting up this quiet cabin retreat near Yosemite. The house has everything needed for an extended stay, complete with full kitchen and laundry room all on one floor. And they added so many thoughtful touches around the house; we noticed something new nearly every day!! Don't miss using the bar and outdoor kitchen. The hot tub was kept spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Yosemite area. Being some distance from Yosemite park is no problem; the drive in makes a scenic adventure each morning.

Avand's home was the perfect mountain escape for my husband and me! The neighborhood is quiet and private, close to the charming historic Mariposa but also ideal for exploring and hiking. We arrived after dark so were very grateful for the clear directions and very visible markers that lead us to Avand's place. After a long drive, we recharged under the stars in the jacuzzi before some very restful sleep in the large bed. Apart from the wonderful hospitality, we especially enjoyed meeting Avand and learning about the area. We can't wait to come back and stay longer! Thank you again for making our first trip to Mariposa so special. P.S. I am still obsessing over the half dollars decorating the grout of the outside kitchen area.

The bed was incredibly comfy, the kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were incredibly modern and easy to use. Danee and Avand were amazing hosts. Avand and Danee were excellent hosts. Their cabin was extremely clean and perfect for a group of four. It was the perfect stay for day trips into Yosemite.

We had such a lovely stay at this cabin! It's very well done and (I'm assuming) recently renovated, plus it was sparkling clean. The outdoor kitchen is where we cooked dinner every night (the indoor kitchen is fully stocked with cooking tools and spices), and the hot tub was perfect after our long days of hiking in Yosemite—also, it was quite possibly the nicest hot tub we've ever been in! The bed was surprisingly comfy, too, and we slept like bears. What makes this place truly special, however, are all of the little extras, from the outdoor disco ball to the bidet, to all of the plants and the hammock, plus we loved all of the helpful yet quirky labels on everything. We had everything we needed to be comfortable, and we felt like we were in a home, not an AirBnB, which is a good thing! <br/>The place was easy to find, thanks to Avand's very clear directions, and the wi-fi was super strong for our entire stay. Yosemite is an hour-long drive (to either the western or southern entrance), but this was the perfect place to come home to every night.

Avand's place is perfectly outfitted and has so many thoughtful touches throughout -- it's one of the nicest Airbnb's I've ever stayed at. It had everything we needed to have a fun, comfortable, and homey stay. The cabin is about 15 minutes from the little town of Mariposa and just over an hour to Yosemite. It's so quiet and peaceful around! Avand and Danee were available for questions and showed us around the neighborhood a bit, which was lovely. If you're looking for a rural getaway with style and comfort, look no further!

From the moment we arrived, the cabin was beautiful and cozy! Everything was extremely clean and the attention to details were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the backyard under the patio and in the hot tub under the stars. We loved how it was located close enough to Yosemite for multiple day trips and also so many other beautiful hikes, lakes (Bass Lake) and nature attractions. The hosts were quick to respond, and extremely friendly and helpful. You can tell how much time and thought was put into perfecting their cabin! Don't hesitate to stay here for a perfect getaway!

We had an absolutely LOVELY stay. The cabin is extremely easy to get to, and yet feels remote and relaxing. It was sparkling clean when we arrived, and I was impressed by the stylish furniture. The bed was SO comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked: we cooked several communal meals and had everything we needed. I also LOVED the hot tub, we went in several times during the few days we stayed. I know you can drive to Yosemite from here, but honestly we were seeking maximum relaxation. We didn't go anywhere (except into town for lunch one day and to take a hike nearby) and that was exactly what we wanted. I truly hope I can return soon!
